CTF-BioFactility is a Capture the Flag map for Unreal Tournament 3. It was made during my first year at Staffordshire University. It is best played with ~12 players. The map has 4 distinct paths to the flag, one only accessable via the Translocator. Due to time constraints, I feel the center area of the map is lacking in detail, and could use improvements.

Level Design

The whole level was designed from scratch by myself. The guidelines of the assignment didn't allow us to use custom scripts, meaning anything that looks scripted was done in Kismet. The level was designed to have multiple routes to the flag, weapons placed in logical places (ie, Sniper in/near the Sniper Nest) and also balanced. The first way to balance was to make the map symetrical, which also cut down on production time. Other ways were to allow defending players to catch up with the enemy flag carrier via a translocator shortcut. The sniper was balanced by giving players an alternate route that avoids sight from the sniper nests. The module also didn't require Path Nodes, so none were added to meet the deadline.
